Anthony LEVESQUE

I was born in 1974 and from 1991 to 1995, I studied "Wildlife Management" and "Nature Protection". I have been passionate about birds since I was 9 years old, thanks to my father and my 2 grandfathers who were all hunters. I have been in Guadeloupe since 1998 and a ranger at the Petite-Terre Nature Reserve since 2001. Thanks to my job and my passion, I have travelled to many West Indian islands including Cuba, Haïti, Dominican Republic, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, Dominica, Martinique and Trinidad & Tobago, as well as French Guyana. I'm an active birdwatcher and I study birds all the time. I have observed 200 different species in Guadeloupe, among them 25, never before recorded here. My passion for banding, counting and taking photos of birds has, I hope, increased our understanding of the birdlife, here in Guadeloupe. Now we want to share this knowledge with other people, in an effort to protect and preserve our precious birds, which are an important part of our natural patrimony.

Frantz DUZONT

Born in 1972 in Guadeloupe and a professionnal fire-fighter for several years, I'm a birdwatcher who has studied birds, as an amateur, since the end of 2001. I learned of Anthony when I was looking for some information about birds on the Internet. We met in March 2002, and now I'm completely devoted to the study of birds, thanks to these 4 years of collaboration. I am very often in the field and I have been the treasurer at AMAZONA since 2004. I passed my banding exam in October of 2005, and I also participated in several different studies undertaken by our NGO. I manage, despite a restricting professionnal and family life, to invest a lot of time in this activity about which I care so much.
